Boston Pizza Manifest the Win

For 30 years, Canadian hockey fans have endured a painful drought with no Stanley Cup wins for a home team. To reignite optimism, Boston Pizza tapped into a powerful psychological truth: magical thinking—the rituals that fans turn to when outcomes feel uncertain, offering them a sense of control in the face of unpredictability. Boston Pizza and UM created Manifest the Win, a platform that gave fans a powerful national stage to channel their hopes. The integrated initiative spanned pre-game engagement with Sportsnet, sequential TV storytelling through each playoff round, influencer-driven “champion scent” activations, and high-impact OOH that mapped out a future Stanley Cup parade route. A branded parade bus, local fan events, and cultural collaborations amplified the movement nationwide, making the brand the epicenter of hockey optimism. The campaign drove record sales and traffic, smashed favourability and purchase intent benchmarks, and reinforced Boston Pizza’s positioning as the Champion of the Sports Fan.
